To make it easier I have pointed Mike out to you! See the little stick man. No, I can’t draw very well! The other ‘thing’ circled is a monster…count the legs…what else has that many?
Open your mouth...
This is Mike from the back of his brothers throat. Every looked at your tongue? Can you see the taste buds that make a ‘V‘ shape? Imagine getting stuck in one of them. They have a pit around them like a moat around a castle…except instead of being full of water its full of spit…urgh!
Mike gets better at travelling around the body (whoever’s body he’s in) in the blood supply. Arteries and veins are like roads going to every destination in your body. Mike figured out that if he could get into the dip in the middle of a red blood cell the whole journey was easier! The white blood cells should be bigger than the red, and some are really spikey. Mike tries to stay away from them…they are very dangerous!
Friend or foe?
On his second adventure Mike met a white blood cell. At first he wasn’t scared…
When you are microscopic a single breath can make a big difference. If it’s a breath in you can end up in a strange place indeed. The alveoli are in the lung, little sacs that look like a bunch of grapes, but are covered in mucusy goo and have a whole bunch of white blood cells on duty!
Over the edge...
Mike fell down his brothers throat (oesophagus) and managed to break his fall on a ledge. But some ledges are different to others…
